The EDI (Electrodeionization) system harmoniously integrates with reverse osmosis and additional purification technologies to efficiently strip ions from water. Within the EDI module, the ion exchange resin is sectioned into working resin and polishing resin. The boundary, known as the working front, separates these sections. The working resin is tasked with the removal of the majority of ions, while the polishing resin focuses on more challenging ions such as weak electrolytes. The ultrapure water produced can reach impressively high resistivity levels of 15-18.25 MΩ·cm. The EDI systems are versatile, offering both continuous and intermittent operational modes.
